The annual AA Hospitality awards recognise the excellence of AA hotels and guesthouses throughout Ireland. I was honoured and delighted to be nominated for the AA Foodie of the Year award, which recognises an influential food writer, enthusiast or blogger.
When leading airline Ryanair got in touch to request a contribution to their Into the Blue travel blog, I could hardly say no. The article was focussed on Dublin's best brunch spots, and after thinking long and hard, I nominated Bibi's on Emorville Avenue as my Top Brunch Tip. You can see the full article here.
UK website Hotel Direct got in touch with Stitch & Bear and asked me to contribute to their Dublin Twitter List, along with some other Dublin-based tweeps. Over the course of a short chat, I discussed why I tweet, my hidden Dublin gems and some recommendations for dining in Dublin.
Towards the end of 2014, I was invited to participate on a panel discussion about one of my favourite topics, cocktails. Journalist and broadcaster Jim Carroll chaired a This is Banter discussion on the Dublin cocktail scene. I was delighted to join cocktail and drinks experts such as Alan Kavanagh (Edward Dillons Spirit Portfolio Ambassador and owner of Total Cocktail Solutions), Paul Lambert (Upstairs @Kinara Kitchen) and Stephen Teeling (former head at Kilbeggan Whiskey and now part-owner at Teeling Whiskey).
Stitch and Bear was invited to contribute to an Irish Times article "Welcome to the cheap eats: dining out that won't leave you destitute"
The RTÉ Food section asked Stitch and Bear to contribute to a series of guest articles centered around the theme of summertime. Stitch and Bear stuck to our subject matter expertise and authored an article all about summer cocktails and drinks.
As Dublin celebrated the Chinese New Year, Stitch and Bear was invited to submit a recipe for Chairman Mao's Red Braised Pork to the Taste of China section of the festival's website.
Stitch and Bear was invited to write a guest post for popular Irish blog Cheapeats.ie. Delighted at the chance to share my enthusiasm for Dublin's dining scene, I shared tips for my passions of cheap Asian food, cool cocktails and the resurgence of smaller Irish beers.
Stitch and Bear featured as the Food Blogger of the Month in Dublin's most popular free sheet, Totally Dublin. It may have been a small paragraph, but I was thrilled with the mention.

My first major mention came in the Irish Independent's Weekend Magazine where my "gourmand" delights were pitted against the "healthy hearts" food from the lovely Dorcas Barry. By the way, make sure to follow Dorcas on Twitter via @dorcasbarry
